June 22 - fast approaching!!
Bring your camp or lawn chairs and drum!

Above is a picture of young Jack in the distance at our friends, Craig and Lisa's property.  Jeff and I (and Jack) "officially" met there at the infamous Tee Pee Erection Party, June 2009.  Lisa will be officiating the ceremony.  Thank you so much, Lisa, that means a lot!

And, below - our beloved Folks Fest, in Lyons, where we enjoy camping, eating, drinking, great music and friendship every August!  Both of these events have inspired this wedding.

The Food . . .

So I mentioned “upscale” tacos in the invitation, with our request for ingredients.  Part of this idea came from my own experience with a combination of wonderful memories of my first fish tacos in Baja Mexico, some recent food truck tacos  in Denver that included sweet potatoes and heavenly aioli, and a fun restaurant in my neighborhood called Boracho Tacos (or secretly named,“Fuckin’ Taco”). But really I often put whatever is around in a tortilla – so we can also call this “anything goes” tacos.  (and I am imagining a very good friend of our's pulled pork that would  be so yummy for this...) I will credit Mr. Scott Yoder with this "taco bar" idea for the wedding  - thanks Scott!

the humble taco is having a moment.

Our favorite way to indulge our taqueria cravings is to stay home—and throw a taco party. And when we say "taco party," we don't mean ground beef cooked with a spice packet and shoveled into hard shells that crumble upon first bite (but you can have that too, if you like, anything goes!)

Flavorful chicken thighs slathered in ancho chile and crisped in a cast-iron pan; and creamy poblano peppers so satisfying they'll make you consider going vegetarian.

Spoon these fillings onto fresh, warm corn tortillas. Add a shot of one of our salsas, spiced with dried or fresh chiles, and top with a sprinkling of pickled red onions. Then you'll see why, when it comes to feeding a hungry mob of friends and family, there's no party like a taco party.

In other words - we will have fun filling our tacos creatively.  Feel free to bring your favorite add-ons!

What to Wear to the Wedding . . ?
Now, the women might be more concerned about this issue, but I didn't want to leave any details out!  I mentioned above, to help visualize, "shabby chic" - meaning - we will be casual, but with some FUN dressie-ness.  Jeff and Jack will be wearing jeans with nice shirts and vests.  Jill is still working on her outfit, no white dress, but there will definitely be some fun shoes involved!  There will be smatterings of turquoise blue everywhere.  If you want to have fun, dress up a little with us or add a little blue to your attire - mostly - we just want you there!

Should she or shouldn't she?  Too sparkley..? but very fun!
